Virgin Media has announced that the HD versions of ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 are coming to the cable service’s channel line-up.
The three HD channels, featuring Celebrity Juice, The Only Way is Essex as well as UEFA Europa League and the Tour de France in high definition glory will be available as part of the Virgin Media TV XL package.
This boosts the total number of HD channels available on Virgin Media TV to 43.

The TV XL service, which starts from £20.50/month with a Virgin phone line or £32/month without one, has over 200 channels to its name, including BBC HD, Channel 4 HD, Channel 5 HD and Sky 1 HD.
As well as this, today’s announcement also reveals that content from all four ITV channels will be arriving on the Virgin TV Anywhere app. This means that Virgin Media subscribers will be able to watch ITV programmes on the go from their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
Katharine Burns, executive director of multiscreen content acquisition at Virgin Media said: “We’re pleased to be introducing such a fantastic selection of HD content to our customers as well as bringing some of the UK’s most watched channels to different screens via Virgin TV Anywhere.”
Martin Goswami, director of pay and distribution at ITV said: “We’re committed to bringing the very best content and quality viewing experiences to viewers across multiple platforms so we’re delighted that Virgin Media customers can now watch all of our channels in stunning HD quality.”
The HD ITV channels will be hitting Virgin Media’s programme guide today. ITV shows will be arriving on TV Anywhere sometime later this year. There’s no ETA yet – we’ll update once we know more.
