Now TV Sky Movies Pass monthly price drops to £8.99 from £15

Now TV’s monthly price for a Sky Movies Pass has dropped from £15/month to £8.99/month.

The on-demand movies service, available online and on iOS, Android, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and YouView, has fallen in price following the launch of Now TV Box bundle deals in stores.

While expensive compared to the likes of Netflix and Lovefilm Instant, Now TV’s edge on the competition is that it’s got access to Hollywood titles a year before they’re available on other platforms.

Initially priced at £15/month, Now TV began offering older customers Sky Movies at £8.99/month to lure them back. Xbox 360 customers have been offered free Microsoft points for signing up and a new three month introductory period was introduced.

Even with the new price, Now TV is still more expensive than other streaming services out there, but you’re paying more for that exclusivity. If you’re the kind of person who wants to watch the latest movies first then the choice is clear.

Now TV also offers access to Sky Sports on a daily basis at £9.99 for 24 hours.

Now TV is available to everyone with a broadband connection. Minimum streaming speeds for fixed-line and 3G connections are 2Mbps and 180kbps.
