If you didn’t get tickets for this Summer’s Olympics, the BBC has released tickets for the next best thing – Ultra High Definition screenings of events from the games.
Ultra High Definition – also known as Super Hi-Vision – has 16 times the resolution of today’s HD images, with 22.2 multichannel three-dimensional surround sound.
The BBC has teamed up with Japanese broadcaster NHK, which developed Ultra HD, and Olympic Broadcast Services, to show events in London and Glasgow.
The public will be able to watch selected moments during the games, including the Opening Ceremony and action from the Olympic Stadium, Velodrome, Aquatic Centre and Basketball Arena
In the week before the games, Londoners can also watch London Prepares, a tour of Olympic Park and London’s famous landmarks all captured in Super Hi-Vision.
