Hull-based ISP Quickline is to expand its superfast broadband network into Doncaster.
The firm has invested in extending its network to the area using a mix of fibre optics and wireless technology so that residents and businesses can get superfast broadband.
The firm said that premises would be able to get a “true alternative internet service” of up to 40Mbps in the South Yorkshire town and the surrounding areas.
In a statement, the ISP said: “Quickline is transforming the way people live and work with superfast broadband, especially in rural areas, where traditional telecoms companies are currently unable to reach.”
The firm launched its network back in 2007 and done a lot of work to improve internet connectivity in the region. Quickline also came to the rescue of residents in Lincolnshire when it assumed the responsibilities of troubled local ISP Linpop, saving it from administration. The ISP provides wireless broadband across parts of rural Lincolnshire.
As reported by Recombu last November, Quickline has also installed wireless broadband services in Caistor and Market Rasen. In Lincolnshire, providing residents in rural areas with broadband speeds of up to 20Mbps. Up to 40 village halls in the area have been decked out with wireless broadband. The ISP completed the upgraded network at the end of January.
