If you can’t watch ITV’s World Cup coverage on your TV… watch it on your phone via Sky Go

Alternatively, if football’s not your thing you’ll be able to abscond to another room in the house and catch up on the likes of Coronation Street, Emmerdale or Midsomer Murders

With the addition of ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV, Sky Go now lets its TV subscribers stream up to 63 channels live.

When ITV Encore, ITV’s new drama channel, launches on Sky later this month it will simultaneously launch on Sky Go, bringing acclaimed shows such as Broadchurch and Whitechapel – taking that number up to 64.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s brand director of TV Products, said: “Sky Go is home to the widest range of channels available anywhere our customers are, and reaching the milestone of over 60 live channels is a huge achievement.

“We are really excited to offer ITV channels on Sky Go as we know there can be a fight for the remote when a big summer of sport kicks off. Whether people want to catch the football – or take refuge from it – this gives our customers even more flexibility to enjoy the TV they love, on their terms.”

Sky has recently updated its Android app so that the HTC One (M8) and Samsung Galaxy S5 are supported. Sky Go for Android is available on over 40 Android phones.

Tablet owners will need to download the separate Sky Go Tablet app from Google Play. While the majority of devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above are supported, some devices running 4.4 KitKat have reported issues with streaming live TV. Sky is currently working on a fix.

Sky Go is also available on laptops running Windows 7, Vista (32-bit) and XP (service pack 3) and OS X 10.5 up to 10.7.

Sky Go is included as a standard feature of a Sky TV subscription and lets you watch live TV on up to two mobile devices. For those living in busier homes, or those with a larger array of gadgets, you can get Sky Go Extra for an additional £5/month.
