Sky has released a new version of Sky Go specifically for Android tablets, Sky Go Tablet.
The new app brings long-awaited support for Sky’s remote catch-up service to devices like the Nexus 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Customers will see two Sky Go apps in the Google Play Store. ‘Sky Go Tablet’ is compatible with the majority of Android tablets 7-inches and above and recommended for a better quality viewing experience than the regular Sky Go for Android app.

Sky recently announced that a tablet-specific app was in the pipeline for Android users after revealing that problems with older versions of Google’s OS had led to long development times.
Although the new app will work on the vast majority of Android tablets, specific tablets like the Asus Transformer TF101 and Amazon Kindle Fire remain unsupported. The Google Play page for Sky Go Tablet also reveals that some owners of devices running Android 4.4 KitKat are experiencing quality issues with live content. Sky is working on this and hopes to have an update rolled out soon.
Future updates will include merging the phone and tablet apps into one and landscape orientation for the main user interface.
