Sky+HD 1TB gets an Anytime+ storage upgrade

Sky has upgraded its flagship 1TB has been upgraded so there’s more space to download films and TV shows from Sky Anytime+.

The twin-tuner HD TV recorder still has 1TB of storage for recording TV off the air, but the 2TB hard drive means there’s the same space for instant-access Anytime content.

Sky announced today that its on-demand broadband service Anytime+ will be available to Sky+HD users over any broadband connection – not just Sky Broadband.

Unlike most streaming video services, Anytime+ downloads to your Sky+HD box so you can watch it again instantly.

Sky also pre-stocks the Anytime service via satellite when you’re not using your Sky+HD, and the extra capacity will expand this instant-access choice.

Sky new Sky+1TB will allow you to store 240 hours of HD content (about 100 movies in HD) or 740 hours of SD content on both the user and Anytime sections of the hard disc.

Prices for a Sky+HD 1TB start from £99 for existing Sky customers, or £149 for new customers with the HD pack at £10.25 extra a month, or £249 without the HD package. Set up costs apply.

As with all Sky+HD boxes, it features an HDMI output (for HD video with Dolby Pro-Logic surround sound), digital audio output (for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound), standard definition Scart outputs, and Ethernet.
