TalkTalk cutting UK call centre jobs, creating 450 new jobsTalkTalk is putting the kibosh on its UK call centres in Northampton and Lincolnshire, cutting hundreds of jobs in the process. This news comes as TalkTalk announces that it’s taking less calls from customers.

Speaking to Recombu Digital, a TalkTalk spokesperson said that the ISP had experienced “much lower customer service call volumes and increased positive customer feedback,” over the last 12 months.

Though the most recent Ofcom figures show TalkTalk topping the complaints chart, the overall trend is positive – there has been a dramatic decrease in complaints since Q4 2010.

As the jobs in the Northampton centre are closing, TalkTalk is hoping that staff will be able to transfer jobs to elsewhere in the UK.
