Unlimited broadband for £1.95 a month: Direct Save launches the UK’s cheapest internet

Budget broadband company Direct Save Telecom has launched an unlimited broadband service for £1.95/month plus line rental.

That’s £11.90/month with advance line rental, on a 24-month contract with inclusive UK evening and weekend calls, and a free wireless router, plus a £24.95 start-up fee.

Broadband usage on the up-to-24Mbps ADSL connection is unlimited, subject to a fair usage policy that Direct Save says will affect less than one per cent of users.

“Unlike other providers our prices stay the same every month, so what you see is what you get. We don’t make-up headline grabbing offers just to change the goal posts six months down the line.

“With our new £1.95 offer, customers will only pay £1.95 for the entire length of their contract, there will be no hidden charges, no prices hikes, zero alterations.”

Line rental options are £14,75/month for standard broadband (vs BT’s standard £15.45/month), or £9.95/month if you pay for 12 months in advance.

There’s also an £8.95 delivery charge for the router, and inclusive calls cover numbers starting with 01 and 02 only.

Direct Save’s fair usage charge applies only to consistent heavy downloaders, who will be contacted to discuss their activity and change file sharing settings before any action is taken.
