Vodafone caps roaming Euro broadband at £8 a day

Mobile broadband users on Vodafone can surf their way across Europe at £8 per day for 100MB – and £25 for the rest of the world.

The new roaming tariffs for dongles and tablets are separate from the newly-announced Euro Traveller phone rates, and come into operation from July 1.

Less-intense travelling data users can opt in to Vodafone’s Data Traveller tariff outside Europe, which costs £5/day for 25MB.

There’s also a monthly roaming cap of £42, which sees your internet access cut off unless you opt out. Roaming surfers will receive a notification via email, text and through their online accounts, when they reach £33 in Europe or £80 elsewhere, and a final notification when they hit the limit.

If you continue over the limit, from July 1 roaming in Europe will be charged at 69.6p/MB – the new limit set by the EU for roaming data charges. Outside Europe, Vodafone charges £3/MB for the first 5MB, then £15 for every 5MB extra.
