Zen and the art of cheaper phone and fibre broadband

Zen Internet has launched cheaper phone and fibre packages for customers with prices starting from £16.25 per month.

It said that customers would be able to get a choice from two services, one offering speeds up to 38Mbps and the other offering speeds up to 76Mbps.

It also touted that the services come with “truly” unlimited usage and “significantly reduced installation costs.” Zen also said the packages were offered on a twelve month contact basis.

It said that both business users and residential customers could sign up for the services and that all packages are backed up by a “highly robust and resilient network and award winning UK based technical support and customer service.”

It said that it has pumped £3.5 million of investment into its core infrastructure and its 200 Points of Presence PoPs plus another 270 exchange locations will enable it to provide services to at least 6 million UK premises.

“Our investment in our network now allows us to provide cutting-edge Fibre Optic Broadband services to our customers for less money whilst retaining all the Zen quality and reliability benefits,” said Richard Tang, managing director of Zen Internet.

“Adding truly unlimited download options to our packages allows our customers to make the absolute most of this great new technology, safe in the knowledge that there are no limits and no additional charges.”

He said that new customers would be able to transfer to the service for free and its call charges would offer “significant savings compared with other providers, including BT”.
