Word of its release coincided nicely with the (short lived) availability of the brand new Nexus 4 smartphone and the Samsung-made Nexus 10 tablet, both of which run the new flavour of Jelly Bean out-the-box. Depending on the device, Jelly Bean 4.2 operates in a slightly different fashion, with the tablet experience having access to features like multiple user accounts and the smartphone experience featuring elements like the new Photo Sphere panorama mode.

Luckily for us, the update that we heard whispers of graced our own Google Nexus 7 with its presence just yesterday and once we downloaded it, we placed it under the magnifying glass to see just how different it made the Android user experience. Impressed? Disappointed? Check out the video below to see a full hands-on with the update and the myriad of new features it offers.

Whether you’re still waiting or you’ve already downloaded it, we’d like to hear your thoughts on the update and the move of producing an entire Nexus family in one year, as opposed to a single device.
