Asus has announced a software update to the Asus EeePad Transformer TF101, adding Face Unlock to it’s Android tablet along with email improvements and System Bar Unlock.
Announced on Asus’s Facebook page, update 9.2.1.24 is a small update available over the air and brings the following improvements:
- Add Facebook Unlock Feature
- Add System Bar Lock
- Add Email App new feature: Email download size/Threading/Out of office notice/Mail Sync Schedule
- Improves System stability
- Improves Email App stability
- Improves MyNet stability
- Improves MuLibrary stability
The most interesting feature is Face Unlock, this feature of Ice Cream Sandwich lets you unlock your device using the on-board camera.
Asus has been very good about providing updates to customers. After a few delays, the Transformer was updated to Ice Cream Sandwich in February and since then Asus has continued to update and improve the device, while releasing new tablets, such as the Asus Transformer Pad TF300.
Asus is advising all owners of the EeePad Transformer that they must perform a cold boot before downloading and installing the update. Details are found in the video below, but it’s performed by shutting down the device and turning it back on,
