Asus’ ZenWatch smartwatch has been revealed in Taiwan ahead of next week’s IFA 2014 launch, rocking English voice control and Google’s Android Wear interface.
We’d heard rumours that Asus was working on a smartwatch in time for IFA 2014 in Berlin, but now we’ve got a proper glimpse of the new Asus ZenWatch. This sleek-looking smartwatch sports Google’s Android Wear OS and will also boast full English voice control when it hits in October.
Asus’ press launch on September 3rd in Berlin will reveal the ZenWatch to the world, but Asustek’s CEO Jerry Shen has already leaked the smartwatch to Taiwanese press.
Apparently the Asus ZenWatch will come in just one flavour, and will cost under $199 US when it goes on sale in October. The ZenWatch is going to hit the US and ‘other selected markets’ first, and we’re hoping that the UK is included in that beause it looks pretty damn slick from the images we’ve seen.
We’ll bring you a full hands-on review next week when we hit IFA 2014, and at this price point we’ve got high hopes that the ZenWatch will be stiff competition for the LG G Watch and Moto 360.
