BlackBerry 10.2 OS update detailed in screenshots and video

BlackBerry 10.1 only started rolling out a few weeks ago to Z10 owners, but it looks like the software developers at Waterloo are already hard at work on a BlackBerry 10.2 update. Crackberry has served up screenshots – as well as a short video – that shows off the new features that the update will bring.

Blackberry 10.2 will reportedly include tweaks to the user interface, and BBM Channels will now come pre-installed by default. In case you need a refresher, BBM Elements is BlackBerry’s social networking add-on to the popular BlackBerry Messenger service. Other changes include multiple alarms, along with a brand new loading indicator.

Those all look to be relatively minor changes, but it’s good to see BlackBerry working on and pushing out quick updates for its range of BlackBerry 10 handsets. The Z10 was updated to BlackBerry 10.1 a relatively short time ago, and the BlackBerry Q10 is running the latest version of the OS out of the box.

It’s not clear when BlackBerry will begin pushing out BlackBerry 10.2, although leaks of 10.1 were spotted not too long before the company officially announced the update. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and let you know when it’s announced.
