BlackBerry Monaco and Monza pictures leaked

The long rumoured Blackberry Monza/Monaco has finally appeared in picture form, confirming the existence of the handset that was leaked in a RIM roadmap earlier this year.

The handset is to come in two different flavours: the Monza is a global GSM version, the Monaco being the US Verizon wireless option.

Following what was a pretty badly received BlackBerry Storm, the Monza looks to be a much improved sequel. Rumours indicate the handset may launch as the BlackBerry Touch, doing away with the infamous Storm name. It is to boast all of RIM’s latest tech including BlackBerry OS 6.1.

Also included in the hardware package is a 1.2 GHz CPU, 3.7 inch 800×400 display and 768MB of RAM. On the camera front expect a 5 megapixel camera which can capture 720p video.

Also said to be included is the new BlackBerry ID system: essentially a single sign in for what could be a cloud style service for data backup and restore and contact access.

Expect the leaked BlackBerry handset to be made official at May’s BlackBerry world, with a ship date in three to four months.
