Breaking: Spotify launches Symbian application

Today Spotify launched its Symbian app that will work on phones running the Symbian platform including most high-end Nokia handsets and phones such as the Sony Ericsson Satio. You can download the app by visiting m.spotify.com on your mobile’s browser. As with the Spotify Android and iPhone app, you’ll need to pay for a Spotify premium account which costs £9.99 per month.

The Symbian app can run in the background while you use other apps and also includes an ‘offline mode’ so that you can essentially download tunes to your phone for when you don’t have a data connection. This is a very smart move from Spotify as it will open up the service to a much larger audience than the iPhone or Android platforms currently can. For more info visit www.spotify.com/mobile.
