First benchmark of the Samsung Galaxy S3 reveals no HD screen?

The Samsung Galaxy series has been impressive and none is more eagerly awaited then the upcoming Galaxy S3. One rumours doing the rounds is that the device would sport a huge 1080p HD screen, but news in from Pocketnow.com says different.

The chaps have got their hands on the first GLBenchmark for what they believe is the next Galaxy S; model number GT-19300. Unfortunately if this is indeed the S3, it’ll include a resolution of 1196 x 720 – HD, but not the rumoured 1080p full HD screen.

The drops don’t stop there, as the previously predicted 1.5GHz processor is in fact slightly lower at 1.4GHz. The number of cores boosting this device is not stated, but it’ll run a Samsung Exynos 4 and is predicted to go quad core.

The S3 will allegendly run the same Mali 400 MP GPU as its predecessor the Galaxy S2, though it’ll be clocked higher making those images a little crisper. Good news is that it will be running (as expected) on Android: 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The grand unveiling of the device should be within the next month or so and we will be sure to keep you updated.
