Google’s Now-Infused Android launcher is coming to more devices, starting from today.
Anyone with a Nexus device or Google Play Edition smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat can now install the Google Now Launcher, Google has announced, by downloading it in app form from the Play store. Once installed, users simply have to say “OK Google” to bring up the Google Now assistant, but this will only work when you’re on the home screen.
Google Now Launcher packs some new features such as larger app icons and wallpaper selection to more devices, where before the feature was only found on the Nexus 5. Sadly the Google Now Launcher is only available for Nexus and Google Play edition devices at the moment – other Android phones are unsupported, and there’s no word on when or if this will change.
