HTC Desire S slips into something red exclusively for Vodafone

The sensational HTC Sensatation may be out now, singing and a dancing all over the shop, but that doesn’t stop the HTC Desire S from being something of a head turner.

The Android 2.3-powered Desire S can now be snapped up exclusively in red on Vodafone contracts.

It’s free on 24 and 18 month contracts starting at £30 and £35 a month respectively. Both of these online exclusive deals give you 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB per month.

Those after a 12 month plan can also get the red Desire S for £179 on a £35 a month deal, or for £119 on a £40 plan.

The Desire S might not be a du jour dual-core phone, but it looks great, it does email, internet and Facebook and it can play Angry Birds. That’s enough for some.

Other features of the Desire S include a 5-megapixel main camera with flash. On the front there’s also a 1.3-megapixel VGA camera that allows you to make video calls and amusing self portraits, like the ones we took in our glowing review.

And as it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread you get all those snazzy things like the cut and paste tool and easier app management.

Update: we mistakenly reported that the front-facing camera of the Desire S was a 1.3-megapixel jobbie when it’s clearly not – it’s VGA. We’ve corrected the article above.
