Huawei rips on Siri to tease MWC 2014 goodies

Huawei gives us a glimpse of the new Ascend P7 smartphone and MediaPad X1 tablet, plus a mysterious ‘multimedia tablet’ with 4G.

Siri has apparently started pimping rival mobiles in Huawei’s latest video, in which an excited MWC 2014 attendee asks his iPhone what awesome stuff he can expect to see. Instead of telling him to boycott the expo, much like Apple every year, Siri instead teases him with shadowy glimpses of three new Huawei products, a phone and two tablets.

We’re already expecting to see the new Huawei Ascend P7, Huawei’s latest flagship phone which should come packing a 5-inch Full HD screen, which leaked in a photo just over a week ago. Huawei’s video gives practically nothing away, stating only that it has an ‘amazing front camera’ – which backs up the rumours of an 8-megapixel front-facer. Better brace yourself for lots of Ultimate Selfies…

Huawei’s version of Siri then reveals two new tablets. One apparently packs a ‘beautiful slim design, and its huge battery gives you days of use’. The other is a ‘mutlimedia tablet that gives the ultimate entertainment experience’, and comes with 4G support.

We’re already expecting a Huawei MediaPad X1 tablet, rumoured to pack a 7-inch 1080p screen and a 13-megapixel camera, plus 4G support. News of a second tablet is interesting, and we’re wondering if one will be a premium device to rival Apple’s iPad, and the other will be a budget tablet priced closer to the Google Nexus 7.

All will be revealed this Sunday (February 23) at Huawei’s MWC 2014 press conference, and we’ll bring you full coverage of all the MWC 2014 launches, plus our hands-on previews of all the shiny new kit.
