iPhone alarm clock bug: Apple offers a bit of advice

According to Apple’s support website, the iPhone iOS4.1 alarm clock bug which has caused iPhone owning Europeans to be repeatedly late for work this week should not plague us for much longer.

The bug has meant that since the clocks went back last weekend, repetitive alarms on the iPhone have been failing to go off.

Now that the Yanks face the same problem (clocks in the US change this Sunday Nov 7th), Apple has deigned to address the issue, saying, “To resolve this behavior for existing alarms, set the repeat interval to Never. You will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them. After November 7th, 2010, you can set your alarms to repeat again.”

It’s not clear what happens on November 7th to magically fix the issue but, as AppleInsider suggests, it could be the release of iOS 4.2 update which includes a fix for the alarm clock bug.
