LG Optimus 2 outed: Affordable-looking Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone

Creeping up on LG’s US website ahead of any kind of official announcement is the LG Optimus 2. Boasting a 3.2-inch 480 x 320 (HVGA) screen, 800MHz chip and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, its very much looking like a mid-range/entry level phone.

It’s looking every inch a sequel to the LG Optimus One of a year-and-a-bit ago. There’s even the same kind of clicky mechanical buttons for Menu, Home, etc.

Other specs include 179MB of memory, upgradeable with microSD cards up to 32GB, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. You get autofocus but no flash.

No word on whether or not this is coming to the UK just yet; if you chop out the ‘us’ portion of the URL below and replace it with ‘uk’, you get a ‘currently unavailable’ message. Boo hiss. We’re expecting to hear more on this and other LG-related goodness at CES, but we’ll of course update you should we hear anything new in the meantime.
