LG Optimus L3, LG Optimus L5 and LG Optimus L7 phones leak

LG looks set on bringing the fight back to Mobile World Congress this year; the LG Optimus L3, LG Optimus L5 and LG Optimus L7 have appeared over on a Korean page, where specs and OSs are detailed along with a mention that they’ll be headed to MWC.

The LG Optimus L3 is the smallest of the bunch, coming with a 3.2-inch screen and running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The LG Optimus L3 has a bigger 4-inch screen and comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich baked right in.

The LG Optimus L7 is the biggest of the bunch rocking with a 4.3-inch display and bringing ICS to the party as well.

LG Mobile’s Facebook back yesterday teased the new L-Style Series with a cryptic message where aLL of the L’s were upper case and not Lower case, and five new shiny ‘L’ logos. This suggests that there might be more L-Style phones to come, that or the LG Optimus Vu and LG X3 round out the rest of the line-up.

A Google Translate of this Korean page shows that these three Optimus phones feature a new design style that’s being called “floating mass technology (Floating Mass Technology)’,” with the “corner of each [phone] emphasized the square of the thin design, metal feel of sophistication.”

Though something’s obviously been lost in the translation we’re anticipating lightweight, slim phones with a posh metallic finish a la the LG Prada 3.0.

Update: the LG Optimus L3, LG Optimus L5 and LG Optimus L7 have now all been officially announced by LG.

The LG Optimus L3 will be coming to European markets in March, with the LG Optimus L5 and LG Optimus L7 coming later ‘in the first half of the year.’

The emphasis as we guessed is very much on design as much as fucntionality; “Design is consistently the top or second most important factor for customers when choosing a mobile phone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company in a statement. “With smartphones, we sometimes took a more functional approach to design but with L-Style we’re going back to our roots as a company focused on how our products fit into the lifestyle of our customers.”

We’ve enquired about release dates and UK pricing for the new L-Style range and will update as and when.
