Motorola Atrix: “World’s most powerful smartphone” taken to task by advertising authority.

We’ve rolled our eyes so much they’ll fall out of our head soon. Some phone makers’ claims in the past include being the world’s thinnest, fastest, smallest, and even toughest.

But it looks like Motorola may have to reword how they talk about their first dual-cored smartphone, the Atrix, after advertising from the electronics giant labelled the Android phone the world’s most powerful smartphone.

Powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, it’s no slouch when it comes to power, but one eagle eyed reader at Engadget took them to task.

The reader contacted the UK Advertising Standards Authority to complain that other phones, like Samsung’s Galaxy S2 had more powerful processing credentials; the SGS2 has a 1.2GHz dual-core chip. Sounds more powerful to us.

Whether Moto will be able to wrangle out of changing the adverts, explaining the powerful ‘applications’ of the smartphone possible with extra accessories like the lap dock remains to be seen.
