Motorola DEFY+ coming September 30th

Motorola’s follow-up to the DEFY handset, the DEFY+, will arrive in Blighty on September 30th.

More of a tweaking than a total reimagining, the DEFY+ bumps up the 800MHz processor speed of the original up to a meatier 1GHz, and will come rocking Android Gingerbread 2.3. Other new features include an improved camera (still 5MP, but now with auto-focus, flash and a digital zoom) and a larger, 1700mAh battery (versus the DEFY’s 1540 mAh).

The DEFY appeared in the UK last year, with Motorola’s TV ads boasting that the phone would be ‘life-proof’ – especially if your life involved regularly losing your mobile at pool parties. The DEFY+ retains its predecessors water and dust resistance, while also protecting the 3.7-inch screen from scratches and cracks with the same Gorilla Glass found on the Samsung Galaxy S2. So, if your life’s just too darned hardy for a regular smartphone, the DEFY+ might be the smartphone to watch.
