New entry-level Android phone from HTC gets papped

This turquoise smartphone is apparently the HTC Pico.

According to spies at XDA China, this as-yet-unannounced phone will arrive with all the Android phone staples; Android Gingerbread 2.3, a 600 MHz processor, and a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touch screen.

There are some surprises; the 5-megapixel camera is proof HTC are attempting to tackle photography seriously across all of its phones.

Looks-wise, it reminds us of Alcatel’s (and O2’s) own Android offering, the OT990, though thanks to its HTC pedigree, the button style is more understated.

We reached out to HTC UK for comment, but they told Recombu that they didn’t on rumour or speculation. It’s pretty hard to deny, given the phone’s plastered in its own name, and the buttons match HTC’s typical stylings.
