Nokia Lumia 625 pictures emerge, 4.7-inch display in tow

Nokia has been filling outs its range of Lumia handset quite nicely, covering the whole gamut of budgets and price points. The Finnish manufacturer may have yet another handset in the works, though, with WPCentral posting pictures from Chinese social networking site Baidu that depict what’s thought to be the Lumia 625.

According to WPCentral, the Lumia 625 will be around 4.7-inches. That would be a first for Nokia, which has typically stuck with smaller screen sizes. The Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020, for instance, have 4.5-inch displays. Still, at least those device have a 1280×768 resolution – the Lumia 625 is said to include a 800×480 display, with a pixel density of roughly 198PPI. That’s not terrible, but it’s far from ideal. The Verge believes, meanwhile, that the other specs include a 1.2Ghz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera.

The only other piece of information is that the phone will feature a 2,000mAh battery. That would put it roughly in line with Nokia’s current flagships, so at least the battery life should be above average given how frugal Windows Phone is. There’s no word on a release date for the Lumia 625, or even which markets its intended for, but if the phone is starting to make an appearance then an official announcement can’t be too far away.
