Nokia N8-00 leaks: Flagship Symbian^3 smartphone breaks cover

The much-anticipated Nokia N8-00, the Finns’ flagship Symbian^3 handset, appears to have surfaced in the form of photos of the handset from Chinese tech site IT168. And we’ve got to say, it’s looking pretty real.

In the grand tradition of leaked shots, the handset tends to appear out of focus, reflection-tastic and a bit grubby but you can get the general gist. It’s quite an unusual shape for a Nokia phone, channelling a little bit of the HTC curve but with a Sony Ericsson feel too. The N8-00 is said to be rocking a 3.5-inch capactive touchscreen, although general consensus is that it looks larger. Other hardware features include a 12-megapixel camera with flash, 3.5mm headphone jack and HDMI connection.

Doesn’t look like it’s hiding a physical Qwerty keyboard under that big fat screen, but is set to be the launch device for Symbian^3 , which will offer full HDMI support, improved performance, a simplified UI and advanced graphics.
