The back of Nokia’s rumoured Windows RT tablet was leaked in a picture last month, but we have the clearest picture of the tablet yet thanks to a render from WinSuperSite. Paul Thurrott also reaffirmed the specifications for the tablet while providing a potential price point.
According to Thurrott, Nokia’s “Sirius” tablet will retail for $499 in the United States. That’s pretty expensive considering it runs Windows RT, but at least the specs will be the latest and greatest. The tablet reportedly includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 10.1-inch 1920×1080 display, a 6.7-megapixel camera, and up to 10 hours of battery life. Thurrott also says that the tablet will weigh 590 grams and be around 8.9mm thick.
Nokia will apparently ship a “multi-function cover” for the tablet too, which will function as a keyboard while boosting battery life. That detail was seconded by The Verge last month, with the site saying that additional accessories are also planned.
We’re expecting to see an official announcement for Nokia’s Windows RT tablet on September 26th along with the company’s rumoured 6-inch Windows Phone. The “Bandit” – also known as the Lumia 1520 – includes similar specifications to the tablet, as well as additional tiles and columns and LTE connectivity.
