The price of Google’s newly announced Nexus 7 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablet might sound like an absolute bargain wherever you are in the world, but for those planning on picking one up outside of the US, you need to remember your deal is only half as sweet as those buying one Stateside.
As the team at AndroidCentral point out, Google’s US Play store (below) offers a choice of six content types, but a quick delve into the Google Help pages reveals in places such as the UK however; TV shows, music and magazines don’t feature at all. This is an issue that affects every country where the Nexus 7 is set to go on sale outside the US and it’s not a problem you can fix by buying and shipping a US-based Nexus 7 either.
Due to content licensing on an international basis, Google may be able to bring the omitted content to other countries over time, for the moment, there’s no quick fix.

This might not pose as a deal breaker for those simply looking for a low cost, quality Android tablet, but for some, losing out on key services from the creators of the tablet itself could leave a bitter taste in people’s mouths. The Nexus 7 is set to launch around the end of July with prices in the UK starting from £159.
