O2 iPhone 4S pricing and FAQ now available

O2 had us a little worried by taking its time before announcing pricing details for the iPhone 4S, but the carrier has now thrown up all the juicy details you’re craving, as well as an FAQ to clarify a few things.

O2 will have the handset available for purchase on October 14th (along with Three, Vodafone, and T-Mobile), but won’t be accepting pre-orders of any kind. So if you want to ensure you get your hands on the new hotness you’ll need to be standing near the front of the no doubt long line outside your local O2 store next Friday. Don’t freak out just yet: O2 will be providing a handy stock checker on their website (just like last year), and you can always try the Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, or Phones 4U if you can’t make it to an O2 store.

What about pricing? If you’re an existing customer, the cheapest tariff that will bag you a free iPhone 4S 16GB is £36 per month on a two year contract – that grants you 900 minutes and unlimited texts. If you’re not an existing customer, then the handset will cost you £49.99 on the same tariff. If you want the phone for free, you have to move up to £41 per month, and your minutes are bumped up to 1200 too.

Regardless of tariff, O2 doesn’t include data: you’ll need to add £3, £6, or £10 on top of your chosen tariff depending on whether you want 100MB, 500MB, or 1GB of data. UK WiFi access and included Tethering helps ease the sting a little though.

The full pricing details and FAQ are available on O2’s website now.
