RIM shows off speedy WebKit-powered browser for Blackberry

The days of Blackberry users suffering through tediously slow and horribly clunky native web browsers may be almost over. This morning at Mobile World Congress, RIM showed off something that gives us a little hope – it’s a new browser based on WebKit and it looks good. It loads pages much more quickly than the native browser we know and hate (as you can see in the video) and can handle all sorts of complicated web coding languages like AJAX, CSS and HTML5 so it makes for a much faster, smoother mobile web experience.

There’s no word on a release date for the new, improved browser – but here’s hoping it’ll be available soon.
