Samsung and Swype’s Guinness World Record for texting unofficially beaten

Andrew Steffy from DroidDog has managed to beat Franklin Page’s Guinness World Record for texting. Steffy used a Google Nexus One and Swype to beat the record but since it wasn’t overseen by a Guinness official, we’re not sure if it counts. Even if it doesn’t though the proof is on video (below) for everyone to see. Steffy managed to write the official phrase in 34.9 seconds beating Page’s record, which stands at 35.54 seconds. Since Franklin Page works for Swype and Steffy used Swype to break the record, Page probably won’t be too unhappy but Samsung, who used Page’s record attempt to film an ad, might be a little miffed.
