Samsung Ativ Odyssey spotted with Verizon branding, headed to Europe too?

The Samsung Ativ Odyssey isn’t as much of a loosely guarded secret as say the the LG Nexus 4 was, but aside from the name we didn’t really know anything about the device, save for the fact it was guaranteed to run Windows Phone 8, but we now have the first leaked images of what appears to be a baby Ativ S.

Whilst the Windows Phone 8 launch event in London featured two handsets each from the likes of HTC and Nokia, Samsung only brought the Ativ S to the table. That being the case, Leila Martine, director of Windows Phone in the UK did reveal that the Ativ Odyssey was on the cards for some point soon. A constant source of leaked mobile device images, evleaks came through again with this shot of the Ativ Odyssey.

The Odyssey had already passed through the FCC and looks set to arrive on Verizon in the US sometime next month. Aside from being a slightly smaller handset than the Ativ S, styling is extremely similar with the same faux-brushed metal backing, camera surround and silver edging.

Display size is suspected to be around 4 to 4.3-inches and it’ll likely make use of the same 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor that all the other Windows Phone 8 devices currently utilise (save for the HTC 8S). Being on Verizon, it’s also going to be a 4G handset, at least in the US. For its potential move eastwards, its hardware setup is less concrete, although expandable memory via microSD is clearly guaranteed as an SD card slot cover can be seen on the left of the device.
