Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to feature a Quad HD screen like the LG G3

Rumours point to a 5.7-inch Quad HD display in Samsung’s next top ‘phablet’, the Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 concept

The LG G3 is tantalisingly close to hitting store shelves, bringing with it a stunning 5.5-inch Quad HD display like no other, well, until the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 arrives that is.

Both Korean manufacturers have been known for sticking some pretty stellar displays in their top smartphones and Samsung, not to be outdone by its homeland rival, is expected to use a Quad HD (2560×1440) resolution panel in the next Samsung Galaxy Note phablet.

The current Galaxy Note 3 already impressed up with the impressively bright and colourful Full HD panel it rocked, not least because it’s one of the few Super AMOLED displays of its size on the market, helping those colours really ‘pop’. It’s fair to assume that Samsung, who’s consistently favoured AMOLED over LCD tech in its most powerful handsets, will be using an equally, if not more vivid and bright panel to serve as the LG G3’s first true resolution rival.

Zauba.com was one of the first to highlight key facts that suggest the Note 4 will up the resolution but maintain the same sized screen as the current Note 3. What’s more a User Agent Profile was found lurking on Samsung’s own site citing the resolution. The suspected Note 4 goes by the name SM-N910A, last year’s Galaxy Note 3 uses the model name SM-N900 and the ‘A’ in this instance is likely referring to a carrier-specific model such as AT&T.

Other rumours hint at two versions of the Note 4 using different screen technologies depending on market. Us here in Blighty will likely receive a flat-screened model, whilst talk of a Samsung Galaxy Round-style curved display version could make its way to Korea at launch.
