Samsung Galaxy S 2.3 Gingerbread update coming this month

Along with the Galaxy S II that’s due to arrive this month, the Galaxy S update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is due to arrive in the ‘next couple of weeks’ according to Three UK’s Twitter account.

The update was originally thought to be arriving last month, following a post over on Samsung Romania’s Facebook page. At the time Samsung didn’t have anything more to say regarding a UK update, but now it looks like one is finally on its way, for Three customers at least.

The Samsung Galaxy S took its time to get on board with the 2.2 Froyo update which was consistently delayed and moved back. Hopefully this time round the updates will roll out thick and fast to all Galaxy S owners.

No concrete release date has been announced by Three just yet, but as they say above its expected in the next couple of weeks. We’re waiting to hear back from Samsung to see if it has a statement or anything more to add to the Galaxy S updates.
