First Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders get free Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 at Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse will be giving the first customers to pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy S4 a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for some smartphone/tablet interplay. The mobile retailer has just announced that the first 2000 customers to pre-order online for the forthcoming Samsung flagship will also receive a 7-inch Samsung Android tablet worth around £150 alongside a full set of accessories including an in-car charger, screen protector and a Galaxy S4 case worth nearly £70.

The accessory pack will actually extend to any pre-orders made through Carphone Warehouse, even after the supply of 2000 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0s has been exhausted. The tablet itself originally launched in April last year and comes in black and white, although Carphone Warehouse hasn’t specified if those who pre-order will get the option of one or the other. On the front there’s a 7-inch WSVGA (600×1024) PLS LCD panel, a VGA front-facing camera and a 3.15-megapixel primary camera on the back.

As a result of both its age and price, you won’t be surprised to learn that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 doesn’t feature the same impressive Octa or quad-core processor which the smartphone this offer pairs it with totes. Instead the Android Jelly Bean-based tablet employs a 1GHz dual-core chip, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD up to 32GB.

With regards to the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4 itself, Carphone Warehouse COO – Graham Stapleton had this to say: “When the handset launches on 26th April we’re expecting our stores to be busier than at the height of the Christmas period,” he continued; “We are planning to extend opening hours at our larger sites to cope with customer demand for the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The offer from Carphone Warehouse kicks off tomorrow (March 28th) and these pre-orders are likely to explode once they go live, with the handset being made available in about a month’s time on April 26th.
