Quick off the mark following the announcement from Samsung, UK network Three has excitedly announced that it’ll be selling the Galaxy W. No word on prices, contracts or a release date at the moment, just a bit of PR fanfare saying that Three’ll be flogging the mid-range Android phone.
Coming with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 3.7-inch Super LCD touchscreen and featuring a 1.4GHz chip, the Galaxy W has some respectable specs. We wonder how it’ll be priced against the current range of mid-range Androids.
Other specs and features include a 5-megapixel camera, a front-facing VGA camera for video calls and Samsung’s proprietary Social Hub for Facebook and Twitter action.
Design-wise it looks a lot like a reboot of the Galaxy Mini that was announced back in January this year. Only with a slinkier design and without the chunky mechanical keys.
Along with the S Plus, R and Y and the rest announced earlier, the Galaxy W makes up Samsung’s latest wave of Android phones, replacing the ‘Galaxy Family’ line up, which included the likes of the Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini.
