Samsung Wave S8500: Officially waves hello

We’re not going to lie, we didn’t really get Bada when it was first announced but now that we’ve seen a Bada handset, it’s starting to grow on us. The Samsung Wave S8500 is the first phone to run Bada and it isn’t bad at all.

Boasting a bright and sharp 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen and a 1GHz processor, this Bada-running handset means business. Other features include Wi-Fi, HSDPA, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio and a 5-megapixel camera, which can shoot HD (720p) video – all of that in a frame that’s only 11mm thin.

The Wave’s TouchWiz (3.0) user interface does the basics well but it’s relatively simple. This isn’t the most high-end smart phone out there but if you want something fast then it’s worth checking out. You’ll be able to pick one up in April, most likely for free on a monthly contract.
