The mobile music revolution has begun. Spotify’s iPhone app is available to download right now from Apple’s App Store (download link). You can also download a Spotify app for Android phones from the Android Market. It’s free to download but you do need to sign up to a premium Spotify account to access it, which costs £10 per month. While we think that it’s a relatively expensive service, the app is superb and we hope that Spotify lowers the subscription cost soon.
Features include being able to search for artists, albums and tracks, the ability to cache playlists using Wi-Fi so that you can listen to them without a data connection, and you can stream music using 3G. In celebration of the launch of this app we want you to add a song to our Spotify iPhone collaborative playlist called SpotiPhone (playlist link).
