Swype still fast for texting: Breaks own world record

Remember five minutes ago when Swype intern Franklin Page broke the world texting record? Well, Melissa Thompson from our own fair isle has smashed it, shaving almost 10 seconds off the previous time.

How proud we are of the Salford resident, who Swyped her way through the phrase “the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human” on a Samsung Galaxy S. Melissa did it in 25.94s – let us know if you can tap it out faster.

Melissa claims she didn’t put in any special practice before taking up Samsung’s challenge while out shopping. As she says,”It’s a real shock to find out that I’m the fastest texter in the world.”

Unfortunately for Melissa, Guinness is yet to approve her record-breaking time. Franklin had better get as much mileage out of the old “I’m the fastest texter in the world” pick-up line while he still can.
