Xperia Play: O2 gets exclusive white version.

O2 fans rejoice, you will be the only ones to get your hands on this truly awesome white version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play aka PlayStation phone.

Not much else to say about this one other than that O2 is the first to announce it, where the white Xperia Play turns up worldwide is yet to be confirmed.

The Xperia Play was talk of MWC this year thanks to its PlayStation pocket, Android powered gaming. The handset features a slide-out gamepad with dual analogue sticks, d-pad and usual PlayStation buttons.

Both White and Black version will also has the latest version of Android, a 3.7-inch touchscreen, and both front and rear-facing cameras. No news on whether the white device needed special paint.

Steve Alder, O2’s General Manager of devices, said, “We want to help customers get more and more out of their phones, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play combines Android and gaming in a whole new way.”

“Selling the Xperia Play in an exclusive white colour will help give them even more choice when they buy a new phone.”

Despite multiple leaks, previews and shots Sony Ericsson held out on confirming the handset for MWC. The company has finally released video of gaming on the phone in action. Expect titles such as FIFA 10, The Sims and Asphalt Racing, along with plenty others.
