Acer Liquid Metal: Another Android with plenty to prove

Do you live a modern, dynamic and fully integrated lifestyle? Oh boy, do we have the perfect tool for you – or so Acer would say of its latest Android handset, the Acer Liquid Metal.

If the press release is to be believed, the rounded 3.6in display on the Acer Liquid Metal grants “truly sensational visualisation”, the materials used are “solid and resistant” and “give a sesne of high quality for extreme tactile and visual pleasure”.

Have a look at the image on the right. Does it bring you extreme visual pleasure?

If not, perhaps you’ll be more impressed with the 800MHz Qualcomm processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo), an apparently super-speed browser with Adobe Flash support, Wi-Fi and HSDPA (super-3G) and a multi-touch screen. The 5-megapixel camera offers 720p HD video recording as well as autofocus and smile recognition. There’s also Dolby Surround sound to enhance your video-watching enjoyment.

The handset also comes with DLNA/UPnP technology which means that your media content can be shared wirelessly with PC, TV or games console. Plus it can provide an internet connection by connecting to you computer via USB – pretty snazzy but we wouldn’t be surprised to see additional charges for this service from your network.

You’ll be able to snag the Acer Liquid Metal in either brown or silver – the brown version is out from mid November, with the silver version hot on its heels in early December for around £299.
