Foxconn factory video shows Apple iPad 3 production

Journalist Rob Schmitz recently visited the Foxconn factory in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen and thanks to the video he shot you too can now take a walk down the production line making Apple iPad 3 tablet PCs.

Marketplace Shanghai Bureau Chief Rob Schmitz is only the second reporter ever to gain access to visit the factory floor at Foxconn, which is the largest supplier of Apple branded technology.

A recent investigation into working conditions at three Foxconn factories found that all three broke labour laws on the amount of overtime that can be worked.

Following the report by the Fair Labour Association, Foxconn promised to improve conditions and increase pay for its workers.

Foxconn is currently thought to be recruiting 20,000 extra workers for the production of the Apple iPhone 5.

And as the video shows, even though nearly a quarter of a million people already work in the Shenzhen factory, workers arrive everyday to fill demand.
