We’ve heard rumbings of a second HTC tablet, packing a bigger screen than HTC’s first venture, the Flyer, and measuring up against the iPad and Galaxy Tab 10.1 – and now it’s official.
The HTC Jetstream still manages to pack in stylus functionality, like the Flyer (see what they did with the names?) but there’s a sting; for the US launch next month, it’ll arrive at $700 (£429) – and that’s on contract.
The tablet will have HSPA+ and LTE (4G) connectivity, and it will be running Android Honeycomb 3.1 on that 10.1-inch capacitive screen. It’ll also net the HTC Sense UI; meaning spinning 3D homescreens and hopefully a slick lockscreen.
No news yet on whether the UK will the Jetstream; we’re awaiting HTC’s respsonse to our request. There’s a meaty 1.5GHz dual-core processor beating inside it, and an 8-megapixel camera capable of 1080p video capture. There’s also a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video-chat.
It will launch in the US on 4th September 2011. More when we hear it.
UPDATE: HTC UK has informed us that the Jetstream will be a US-only device. Aww.
