Mysterious Toshiba AT270 is a 7.7-inch quad-core Tegra 3 tablet

While HTC and ZTE are keen to boast about Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 chip, Toshiba seem content to silently stick one in their latest tablet and hope you stumble across it on the MWC show floor.

SlashGear happened upon the Toshiba AT270, a 7.7-inch tablet with a 1280×800 AMOLED screen, and powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3. Other specs are mysteriously absent, so we can’t say with certainty how much RAM is under the hood, or what the cameras are capable of, but it’s safe to say this tablet is no slouch with Nvidia’s CPU on board.

Here’s what SlashGear could unearth: the tablet is running Ice Cream Sandwich, has standard microUSB and microSD ports, and looks to be one of the thinnest tablets out there right now, hardly being thicker than the 3.5mm headphone jack. Construction materials are good too: lightweight aluminium with a textured, patterned pack instead of the plastic we’re used to seeing.

Other than that, details are scarce. Toshiba have yet to make a formal announcement, so we can only hope they do so in the near future.

Update: we also managed to pap the mystery Toshiba tab but not after the thing’s battery had sadly died. Check out our hands-on pics here.
