2015 Honda Civic and Civic Sport like it sporty

Honda has been kind enough to give us a sneak peek and a few juicy details of the 2015 Civic and the new Sport version, both of which will debut at the Paris Motor Show in early October.

The Honda Civic and Civic Tourer have been given a styling makeover. A new front and rear bumper, daytime running lights, side skirts, black rear spoiler in black and LED combination lamps make the Civic Sport hatchback more desirable than ever. Leave your pipe and slippers at the door.

In Sport form, you can expect a colour-coded rear spoiler, 17-inch alloys, black roof lining and a new front bumper with a lower grille mesh. Honda says the Sport model has ‘visual links’ to the forthcoming Type R so we have a hint as to what the fastest version will look like when it comes knocking.

Inside you can expect new seat fabric and new stitching, new door trims, chrome door handles and Honda’s Connect infotainment system, which includes DAB and internet radio, Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view parking camera and the option of satellite navigation.

All 2015 Honda Civics will be fitted with City Brake Active system that applies the brakes below 30km/h (18mph) if a collision is detected. Just in case you fail to act quickly enough.

Boot space is still class-leading, so says Honda. There’s an impressive 477 litres in the standard Civic, while the Civic Tourer can manage 624 litres with the rear seats in place.

Powering the wheels will be either a 1.6-litre 120PS diesel or a 1.8-litre 142PS petrol. There’s no word on performance or efficiency figures for either engine. Expect all to be revealed soon.
