2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo details and pictures

New Nissan 370Z Nismo has option of 7-speed automatic and comes with a GT-R-inspired bodykit.

The latest Nissan ‘Z’ is upon us. The Japanese manufacturer took to its annual ZDAYZ event in North Carolina to announce the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo, which benefits from a number of significant changes over its predecessor.

Most obvious is the new GT-R inspired bodykit, which is said to give a more aggressive look, improve aerodynamics and optimise downforce at the front and back. There are also LED ‘Hyper Daytime Running Lights’, black headlight bezels and the rear spoiler has been reshaped and downsized.

The standard 19-inch Nismo forged aluminium alloys by RAYS have a new design. You now get a twin-five spoke design finished in charcoal grey as opposed to silver. Oh, and a red stripe and a Nismo emblem have been added to the front ‘chin’ spoiler. A choice of Solid Red, Magnetic Black, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White paintjobs will be available.

Inside are black and red Recaro leather seats with Alcantara accents and Nismo logos, Nismo red tachometer, Alcantara and leather steering wheel and a 7.0-inch VGA touch screen display linked up to Nissan’s infotainment and navigation system.

The engine remains the same as in the previous Nismo model, which means power comes from a 3.7-litre DOHC V6 that develops 350hp and 276lb/ft of torque. Unlike the previous model, however, you can opt for a seven-speed automatic if the standard six-speed manual isn’t to your liking.

Nissan has been busy refining its 4-wheel independent suspension setup in an effort to minimise road vibrations, improve handling and make the car feel more performance-y. Speaking of handling, a limited-slip differential is a standard fixture.

The 2015 Nissan 370Z will go on sale in the US in July 2014, giving this chap a bit of time to say goodbye to his remaining testicle if he decides to update. A UK or European date and price is yet to be announced – assuming this particular Zeddy makes it here at all.
