Full details and a UK price have been revealed for the new Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet, which is available to order now and will arrive in September 2016.
A choice of six engines and two trim levels are available for the new C-Class Cabriolet. In the engine camp, there’s a C 200 with a 184hp 2.0-litre petrol that offers up to 47.1.1mpg and comes with either a six-speed manual or 9G-Tronic automatic.
The C 300 has the same engine but a bigger 245hp output and can manage a claimed 42.2mpg. Only the 9G-Tronic automatic is available, so no manual.
Then there are two diesels, a 170hp C 220 d available in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive comes with the six-speed manual, while the more powerful C 250 d has the auto and 204hp.
In the sporty camp is the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic, which has a 3.0-litre V6 petrol that produces 367hp and can hit 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds. It has a nine-speed auto and an ‘adapted shift programme’ as standard.
Top of the tree sits the Mercedes-AMG C 63, complete with a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo good for 476hp, 650Nm of torque and 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds. A C 63 S variant ups the output to 510hp and 700Nm of torque, bringing the 0-62mph time down by a tenth of a second.
Back to the trim levels. Sport is the entry-level offering and includes a reversing camera, keyless start and entry (for the auto), Garmin Map Pilot navigation system, heated seats, Agility Control comfort suspension, LED headlights, DAB radio and sports seats in Artico leather to name a few things.
AMG Line costs an extra £1,495 and adds black ash wood trim with brushed aluminium, AMG sports steering wheel, brushed sports pedals and a black roof lining. In the aesthetics department, AMG Line also adds AMG bodystling, 18-inch alloys, diamond grille and 15mm lower sports suspension.
The AMG C 43 has an AMG performance exhaust system, brake pads with AMG lettering, Artico and Dinamica upholstery, black door mirrors and Bi-Turbo 4Matic lettering on the front wings.
Go for the C 63 and you can expect an AMG steering wheel in Nappa leather, Nappa leather upholstery and a spoiler lip finished in your chosen paintjob. As for the S version, that adds AMG performance seats, 19-inch alloys and an electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential.
Just to add even more choice, there is a C 63 S Edition 1 that has diamond-stitched Nappa leather upholstery in black and brown, matt carbon fibre interior trim and bespoke 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloys. It follows in the footsteps of the C 63 S Edition 1 Coupe.
Prices start from £36,200 rising to £65,685 for the AMG C 63 and £72,245 for the AMG C 63 S. An Edition 1, meanwhile, will set you back £78,295.
